TOBIRA : Intermediate Japanese is a revised edition of "TOBIRA: Gateway to Advanced Japanese" (first edition 2009). As part of the comprehensive Japanese "TOBIRA" textbook series, the title has been changed to differentiate the learning levels. The book has been reorganized into two volumes: "TOBIRA I: Intermediate Japanese" for the first half (LL1-8) and "TOBIRA I: Intermediate Japanese" for the second half (LL9-15).
While the theme of each lesson remains the same, the goal is made clear with the "Dekiru List (Can-do List)." The reading materials have been updated, and activities encouraging discussions and presentations based on their topics have been incorporated. For the dialogue sections, listening exercises have been added to the existing practice format. These sections now also include activities for discussing related topics, not just conversation practice.
